INDIVIDUALS

Our work together will focus on how your individual experiences are impacted by your social, cultural and environmental contexts.

While I emphasize the present moment and what’s happening in your immediate environment, I believe there is value in exploring your past, in particular family history, to gain an understanding of how you show up in relationships.

We will aim to understand how coping strategies have been adaptive, while identifying your own personal strengths that can help build resilience in the face of distress.

TEENS

I enjoy working with teens to help them plant the seed for self-compassion early on. My goal is to meet them where they are, while helping them cultivate useful tools and skills to use during challenging times.

By establishing strong relationships with self and others, we will begin to strengthen self-esteem, establish healthy boundaries, and identify ways to get their needs met.

FAMILIEs

My goal is to help resolve identified issues within the context of family by exploring how family members interact with one another, and how these interactions impact the family as a whole.

Using a Family Systems approach, I treat the family as one unit versus treating each member individually.

I believe individuals cannot be understood in isolation from the family unit and that the emotional connection between family members is critical in understanding distress.
